Bangalore: Jayasrikrishna Samiti Meets CM to Discuss UPCL Eco Issues

Bangalore, Sep 21: A delegation of Jayasrikrishna Parisara Premi Samiti (JSKPPS), a NGO engaged in empowering rural youth in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district and its integral development, led by founder president Tonse Jayakrishna A Shetty, met chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda here, recently.
The delegation discussed issues concerning the sufferings of people residing in the villages surrounding Padubidri, where the power plant of Udupi Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) is located.
The delegation urged Gowda to instruct the officers to take appropriation measures in addressing the grievances of locals.
JSKPPS district vice-president K P Jagadish Adikari, Mumbai’s labour and social activist Felix A D’Souza Taccode, former state minister B Nagaraj Shetty, former MLA A Rukmaya Poojary, NRI entrepreneur Frank Fernandes, and Bangalore entrepreneur Clifford Mascarenhas were part of the delegation.
