Haveri: Wayward Vehicle Kills Four Including Two Students

Haveri, Sep 20: Four persons including two students lost their lives after a Tata Safari vehicle hit a cement platform after hitting the students. The incident occurred near a petrol bunk in Shiggaon on national highway on Monday September 19.

Two students, Nasir Khan Yallur (156), and Fajal Ahmed Adoni (15), who were going to their Urdu high school in the town, were killed. Harish (18) who was driving the vehicle, and Pavitra (17), who was travelling in it, both of whom were from Yeshwantpur Bangalore, lost their lives.

M Nagaraj, Yeshwantpur constituency BJP committee president, and his wife, Jinnubai, who is a zilla panchayat member, were injured. Both of them are being treated at KIMS Hospital in Hubli.

Nagaraj was on a pilgrimage trip to Yallamma shrine in Saudatti, Belgaum district, when tragedy struck. Pavitra, daughter of Nagaraj, died in the accident. The driver, who was at great speed, lost control over the vehicle at the spot, the policemen said.
