Mumbai, Sep 19: I M Vittalamurti, well-known Karnataka IAS officer and cultural ambassador, and Lalita Vittalamurti were felicitated by Dr Siddalingayya, chairman of Kannada Book Authority, Bangalore, during a function held at Mysore Association auditorium, Matunga (East), on Sunday September 18. The programme was jointly organized by Kannada Sangh and Mysore Association.
V Ramabhadra, president, Mysore Association, presided over the programme.
TV serial director and intellectual T N Sitaram, renowned artiste Madhu Nataraj, Karnataka Sangh honorary secretary Dr Bharat Kumar Polipu, and cultural organizer K Manjunatayya were also present on the occasion.
A documentary on Vittalamurti was screened during the programme. S R Vinay, Nitin, Chintan Vikas, Manoj, Kavita Matapati, Malasree Kanavi, Ramya, Laxmi, and Tanmaya Krishnamurti staged Kannada Sugama Sangeet programme.
Prakash Shetty and group held a musical concert of theater songs. The students of S K E S School staged various folk dances as part of the cultural programme.
The Association honorary secretary Nilakanta, honorary treasurer H R Vasant and others were present on the dais.
V Ramabhadra welcomed the gathering. Dr Bharat Kumar Polipu introduced the guests. Ahalya Ballal compered the programme and Navilekar proposed the vote of thanks.
