Udupi, Sep 19: The inaugural function of the Study Centre for the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA), UK at Manipal University was held at auditorium of department of Commerce, recently.
Sandeep Shenoy, head, department of Commerce welcomed the gathering.
Guru Prasad Rao, co-ordinator – CIMA spoke about the role of the study centre. He said
that the study centre would give coaching, help in placements and arrange guest talks by
experts.
The chief guest Dr Vinod Bhat, pro vice chancellor, Manipal University, along with
Pratik Patel, chief representative, CIMA, Mumbai, Sandeep Shenoy, head, department
of Commerce and Guru Prasad Rao, co-ordinator – CIMA inaugurated the study centre.
The inaugural address was given by Dr Vinod Bhat, pro vice chancellor, Manipal
University. He spoke about the literate India and said how the mindset of people has changed.
Pratik Patel emphasized how management accounting plays a vital role in the current
scenario and how it can help in recession. Sai Sachidhananda, assistant professor, department of Commerce delivered the vote of
thanks.
Vikram Baliga, assistant professor, Department of Commerce compered the function. The students of BBM (e-Banking and Finance) and BBM(Financial Markets) were also
present.
