Mangalore: Stolen Bike Accident - Pillion Rider Dies

Mangalore, Sep 19: After a Bajaj Pulsar motor bike that was speeding towards Ullal hit the railings of the over bridge at Yekkur, and its pillion rider fell to the road, he was crushed under the wheels of an oncoming truck on the night of Saturday September 18.

After the incident, the rider of the motor bike had escaped from the spot. So far, identity of the deceased could not be established.

It is learnt that the motor bike in question belongs to Alex Antony (25), a student of M V Shetty Physiotherapy College in the city, and a resident of Kavoor Vidyanagar here.  As per a complaint filed by him, the motor bike was parked near Town Hall at 2 pm on Saturday. The complainant said that by the time he came back at 6.30 pm, the bike had gone missing.

The Kankanady police, who have registered a case, feel that the thieves were moving to Kerala with a stolen motor bike, when the unexpected tragedy occurred. The body of the victim has been preserved in the mortuary of district Wenlock Hospital in the city.
