Kasargod: Petrol Price Hike - Kerala Shuts Down, Normal Life Thrown off Gear

Kasargod, Sep 19: In the wake of a bandh called by the Left parties and the BJP across the state on Monday September 19 condemning the hike in the price of petrol, movement of vehicles on the road was sporadic and normal life was thrown off gear.
 
Private and government buses in Kasargod district did not operate at all. Shops and business complexes were kept shut in city areas.

People who came to city on urgent work had to struggle to go back to their places as there were no vehicles. Only a handful of two wheelers were seen on the roads.
 
Most of the schools and colleges remained closed. Attendance in government offices was considerably less. The harthal started at 6 am and will continue till 6 pm. In the afternoon BJP at its district office, and Left parties and labour unions will hold rallies, sources said.
 
Strict police vigilance is in place to avert untoward incidents.

    May be 70% or more of the expatriates in Dubai might be of
    Kerala origin. When I was in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, English was quite useless. If the oil price is plummeting, thousands of people from Kerala may be forced to leave the gulf region. If Kerala had a peaceful industrial set up and environment, Kerala might have been another highly industrialized
    State of India. Kerala is not exempt from high level or ordinary
    schemes of kick backs and hand-greasing social culture probably
    when tabulated at the national level, she may be getting a very
    high score.

    If their government is good, why there is no development? They also fight for power, but it is not highlighted by media. Karnataka is one of the most prominent states in India. Each and everything happens here, will be highlighted within a minute by national media.

    Kerala is believed to have very good infrastructure. Their ministers always lobbied for good roads, railway network and airports. But no industries! When there is no industries, how come Govt get money? Keralites go to other states for work and pay tax to other states. Keralites might be rich, but not their government.

    You said cost of living in Kerala is very low. Let me tell you one thing. Their capital Trivendrum is not as big as our Mysore in terms of population, industries. In Mysore you will get good Anna-Sambar for 8 Rs and 1 BHK house starting from Rs 1500.
    Their second city Kochin is just in par with our Mangalore. When there is no people, everything will get in lesser price. Once a place starts development, automatically cost of living increases.

    MR. DINESH POOJARY: Why the industrial growth in Kerala is very slow? None of the politicians
    have asked that question to themselves. Her 100% literacy along with a communist virus
    infected masses, all political party followers are ahead of other states in strikes. Who is going to take the risk of investing their hard earned money to be thrown away to the ocean! Both West Bengal and Kerala are the leading states in the nation scaring the investors with a scorching feeling.

MOST OF THE KERALITES ARE IN GCC, SETTLED IN MUMBAI-BANGALORE OR SOME OTHER STATES, FOR THE SIMPLE REASON IS THAT NO PEACEFUL LIFE, EVERY DAY STRIKE HOLDING RED-FLAG. NO FACTORIES-INDUSTRIES.     they may look sad..
    but when all travel from mangalore ,kasaragod rout ..all people prefer only kerala state bus and avoids karnataka ksrtc..
    its bcso of space inside bus..
    karnataka ksrtc look like luxury from outside..but inside you cant put your leg in proper way or even 3 peole cant sit togehter in 3 seats..

    Good show on account of last day of Modi Fast. Left appears to be in full support of Modi. This way calling bund on every other day any way reduce the petrol consumption by which keralites need not worry much on hike. However, today there will be highest sale of liquor and local govt revenue is portected.
