Mangalore: Senior Konkani Writer Felix A D’Souza’s Book Released

Mangalore, Sep 19: Senior Konkani writer and former sub-editor of Poinnari weekly, Felix A D’Souza’s second book ‘Turupacheio Teen Rannio’ – a collection of short stories was released through a simple ceremony at Late Wilfy Rebimbus’ residence, Magdelene, St Joseph’s Nagar on Sunday September 18.

Acclaimed singer 'Konkan Maina' Meena Rebimbus released the book and wished the writer great success in the presence of a selected invitees. Naveen Kulshekar, sub editor of Divo Konkani weekly who compered the programme, introduced the writer and described his accomplishments in Konkani literature and journalism.


He commended the consistent and relentless efforts of the author even at his advance age and wished him good health and success in his endeavour. Felix A D’Souza, author of the book thanked all those who supported him during his literary journey. He specially recalled the support of his family members and in particular his younger brother Late Sunny A D’Souza, who passed away last year, for his encouragement.

Well known Konkani writer Dr Edward Nazareth, Daijiworld weekly editor-in-chief, Hemacharya and Rocky Noronha spoke on the occasion. Now in his 77 years age, Felix A D’Souza was born in Bendur parish in Mangalore, and now settled in Borivili in Mumbai.

He is a veteran journalist who has contributed to different Konkani journals for more than five decades. A simple and affable person, D'Souza in spite of his advanced age is full of spirit and enthusiasm. His previous book 'Poinnar vimchlelim motiyam' has won him Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy award.
