Sadananda Gowda says Narendra Modi his Role Model
Bangalore, Sep 19 (IANS): Karnataka Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda said Sunday his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi was his role model and he felt inspired "at international recognition of Modi as future prime minister".
"International recognition of Modiji as the future prime minister of the country is indeed enthusing and inspiring to all of us," he said at Ahmedabad where the Gujarat chief minister on a three-day fast, according to an official release said here.
Gowda, the Bharatiaya Janata Party's second chief minister in Karnataka succeeding scam-hit B.S. Yeddyurappa, said he had "always considered Narendra Modi as a role model."
"The BJP in particular and the nation in general is proud of his achievements as an administrator and a visionary leader," the release said.
Expressing support for the fast which Modi is calling as his 'Sadbhavana Mission', the Karnataka chief minister said he was confident that "it (the mission) will emerge triumphant and herald a new India of peace, friendship, cooperation and comprehensive development".
Gowda, who was accompanied by party general secretary H.N. Ananth Kumar and state Law Minister S. Suresh Kumar, said Gujarat and Karnataka, both ruled by the BJP, "are in the forefront of development".
