Mumbai (RBI), Jan 27: On the occasion of the 75th Republic Day of India, President Draupadi Murumu awarded the President's Police Medals for their distinguished service to a total of six Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers and officials on the occasion of Republic Day 2024 including the IPS cadre.
Murmu felicitated 25 CBI officers and other police officers, including IPS officer Veeresh Prabhu Sanganakal for his distinguished service.
Veeresh Prabhu, the Son of Channana Goud.S and Mahadevi Sanganakal, a resident of Sanganakal village in Bellary district of Karnataka, is a BA graduate from Karnataka College, Dharwad, an MA in Political Science from KSOU Vidyalaya, Mysuru, and a master's degree in Police Management from Osmania University, Hyderabad.
He is a cadre 2005 batch IPS officer and currently holds the rank of DIG in Indian Police Service. Presently he is the additional commissioner of police, Mumbai, Maharashtra Crime Branch.
He served as assistant superintendent of police in Gondia and Malegaon of Maharashtra State, ASP in Ahmednagar, Gadchiroli, Amravati Rural, Solapur Rural as SP and as additional commissioner of police, Traffic Branch, Central Region, Mumbai.
He is a proud Kannadiga police officer who has been honored with the DGP's Emblem by the Government of Maharashtra, Special Seva Medal for Hard Duty by the Government of Maharashtra, Suraksha Seva Medal by the Government of India, Mahatma Gandhi Peace Award by the Minorities Commission of the Government of Maharashtra.
