Mangalore: Rains Take a Break, People Relieved

Mangalore, Sep 17: Torrential rains which threw lives of the people out of gear since the last three days subsided on Friday September 16 afternoon. Even though the rains visited again at night, they made an exit early morning on Saturday.

Karkala and Bhatkal registered the highest rainfall of ten cm. Other parts of coast received between seven and nine cm of rain. Subrahmanya was the only place where rain fury continued unabated during the entire day on Friday.

Fishing activity continues to be paralyzed because of turbulence at sea. The meteorological department has predicted good rains at most parts of the coast, a few places in southern hinterland and  some in northern hinterland during the period till Sunday morning.
