Mumbai, Jan 15: Late Chandrashekar Rao Memorial Trust held a programme at his residence in memory of his birth anniversary under the cooperation of Chikki Sankalana. Poets read poems written by them. Dharavi Kannada school children performed a cultural programme and deserving students were distributed scholarships during the programme.
President of the trust, Sridevi C Rao who presided over the programme said that her late husband was a lover of literature and wanted that new authors should come to light. “The literary programmes are being held every year according to his wish. I intend to felicitate the authors,” she said.
Chief guests Dr Dakshayini Yadahalli and Latha Santhosh Shetty spoke on the occasion.
Shobha S Shetty, Kumuda Shetty, Deepa Shetty, Saroja Amarati, Gayatri Nagesh, Gopala Trasi from Chukki Sankula and Dr G P Kusuma read the poems created by them. Dr G P Kusuma Chandrashekar presented two of her poems. Srikanth Amati sang a song. The fans of Chandrashekar Rao expressed their opinions.
Dharavi Kannada school students presented a cultural programme. Sridevi Rao, president of the trust, distributed scholarships and mementos to the deserving students.
Anjali Shidhore sang a prayer song at the beginning of the programme. Dr G P Kusuma compered the programme and proposed a vote of thanks on behalf of Chikki Sankula.
