Koppal, Jan 2: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has clarified that the Congress government has not indulged in vendetta politics in the arrest of Kar Sevaks in Hubballi and asserted that no innocent persons have been arrested.
Speaking to media persons at the Koppal airport on Tuesday, he said the police have been asked to ascertain what must be done for the guilty and to dispose of all old pending cases. The police have acted accordingly, he said.
“If there are any directions from the court, action will be taken as per court orders,’’ he said.
Reacting to the comments by the Chief Archak of the Ram Mandir Trust that merely Ram Bhakts have were being invited, Siddaramaiah said: “I don’t know who has been invited and not invited. The invitees will attend if they want.’’
To a question on the padayatra by the guest lecturers demanding their regularisation, he said: “The regularisation of all guest lecturers is difficult. We need to see what can be done.’’
The Chief Minister said the State Government has started the process of distributing Rs 2000 each to farmers towards crop losses has been started.
The beneficiaries who have linked their names with their Aadhaar numbers will get the money transferred to their bank accounts, he said.
