Mumbai, Sep 11: The Monthi Fest was celebrated at the St Blasé High School in Amboli of Andheri West on Thursday August September 8. The celebration was organized by Maharashtra Konkan Association.
Fr Franklin Mathias of St Blasé Church offered the Mass along with Fr Vincent Pereira.
Fr Hubert Govias of St Pais Church Mulund West blessed the new paddy crop. John G Mendonza and Heriboy prayed. Fr Hubert Govias said that Monthi fest is a thanksgiving ceremony to the nature for the rich crop bestowed on mankind.
P N Shanbaug president of Konkani Bhasha Mandal Maharastra, Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Vincent Mathias, Aircare institution MD John Rebello were the chief guests. Benedicta Rebello welcomed. Walter D’Souza honored the guests. Lio Fernandes spoke on the occasion. Cyril Castelino introduced the guests and compeered the programme. Vincent Castelino delivered vote of thanks.
