Ashita puts out second seed Akanksha in Indian Open squash


Chennai, Sep 8 (IANS) India's Ashita Bhengra upset second seed compatriot Akanksha Salunkhe in straight games as the trainees of the Indian Squash Academy occupied eight semi-final spots in various age group categories in the third Indian Junior Open squash tournament here Thursday.

P Sankaran, Sandeep Ramachandran, Kush Kumar, Vrishab Kotian and Abhishek Pradan in Boys Under 13, 15, 17 and 19 categories, Ashita (Girls-13), Anaka Alankamony and Aparajitha Balamurugan (both in Girls 19) progressed to the penultimate round.

Sankaran (5-8) eliminated higher ranked Advait Adik (3-4) to author a notable victory on a day when Indian players dominated.
