Udupi: Bus Collides with Another, Barges into Hut - One Killed

Udupi, Sep 8: One person was killed and three others injured in an accident that occured on national highway 66 at Udyavar here on Thursday September 8 at around 7.15 am.
A KSRTC Airavat bus plying from Bangalore to Udupi collided with another private bus and barged into a small hut located by the side of the highway, killing its occupant on the spot, and injuring three others.
Mookambika private bus was plying from Udupi to Mangalore.
The deceased has been identified as Sangappa who was inside the hut at the time of the accident. One of the injured was rushed to a hospital in Ambalpady near Udupi.
Sangappa was one of the many labourers from north Karnataka residing in three huts on the side of the highway.
The injured are Shashikala (23) wife of Sangappa, relatives Durgappa (28), his wife Savitha (25), Airavat bus passenger Divakar Bhandary (60), Mookambika bus passengers Suman Hegde (23), Sumithra (34), Ramanath (23).
Udupi SP Ravikumar, additional SP Venkateshappa, circle inspector Selvaraj, SI Mohan Kottari rushed to the spot.
