Udupi: Serial Thieves Arrested, Valuables worth 5 Lac Seized

Udupi, Sep 1: Two serial thieves involved in the major robbery cases in Brahmavar police limits have been arrested.
The arrested thieves are Prem Kumar, resident of Mogaveerapet, Bangalore and Soorya, also a Bangalore resident. The duo used to often break open the doors or lockers of shops using duplicate keys, both during day and night and steal laptops, mobile phones among other valuable items.
The police have confiscated 15 laptops, 14 mobile sets, large amount of cash and a car valuing around 1.5 lac used by the two thieves for robbery purpose. In all, valuables worth Rs 5 lac have been seized by the police team.
When the police conducted intense investigation and questioning of the two culprits they revealed of involvement in three murders and 24 theft cases.
The police were able to catch hold of the thieves when the two were on their way to Brahmavar after conducting a robbery at Kokkarne. Both the thieves are remanded to judicial custody.
Under the guidance of District Superintendent of policeDr Ravikumar, additional superintendent M V Venkateshappa, DYSP Jayanth Shetty, the Brahmavar circle inspector G Krishnamoorthy and Hosakerappa carried out the investigations.
In arresting the culprits, ASI Sheena Billawa, police officials Raghuram, Krishna Achar, Shailesh Kumar, Ramesh, Prasanna Hegde, Udaya, Sudhesh Shetty among others co-operated.
