Bengaluru, Nov 19: Janata Dal (S) leader H D Kumaraswamy "can tweet a hundred times, but I am firm on my stand of retiring from politics if he proves his charge on cash for postings and transfers," declared Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru on Sunday.
Speaking to media persons, he said the former JDS chief minister is "obviously speaking from his own personal experience of cash for postings and transfers during his tenure."
Siddaramaiah referred to the series of tweets by Kumaraswamy and sarcastically commented that the JDS leader was "obviously speaking about the transfers and postings for money and other financial dealings during his tenure."
He said there is no need to respond to the repeated tweets from Kumaraswamy as he is evidently "frustrated" after the defeat of his party in the assembly polls. "I have said earlier and am reiterating now. If it is proved that I have taken money for transfers and postings as he claims, I will retire from politics," he said.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that Team India will win in the ICC ODI World Cup in Ahmedabad against the Australian team. "The Indian Team has proved its mettle by consecutively winning in 10 of the matches played in the World Cup by giving a good demonstration with bat and ball. I wish all the best for Team India," he said.
