Udupi, Nov 14: Praveen Chowgale (35) has been apprehended in Kudachi, Rayabhaga taluk, Belagavi district, in connection with the brutal murder of a woman and her three children in Nejar. The suspect, originally from Sangli, Maharashtra, was located and arrested by the Udupi DySP-led team in Belagavi.
Acting on information about Praveen Chowgale's presence in Belagavi, the Udupi police coordinated with the Belagavi police. The Belagavi police, knowing the accused was in a specific house, swiftly surrounded the location in plainclothes.
The joint operation involving Belagavi and Udupi police successfully resulted in the arrest of Praveen Chowgale. The Udupi police team, which had also traveled to Kudachi, received confirmation of the arrest and conveyed that the suspect, who was attempting to leave Belgaum, is now in custody. Praveen Chowgale has been brought to Udupi by the police for further proceedings.
An official confirmation is awaited from Udupi SP Arun Kumar.

Utilizing CCTV footage, law enforcement tracked down the suspect in a neighboring district and promptly took him into custody, as confirmed by police sources.
The shocking incident occurred in broad daylight on Sunday in Nejar, Udupi district, where an unidentified assailant claimed the lives of four victims. The heinous crime sent shockwaves across the district, prompting public demands for swift action and the arrest of the culprit.
On the morning of Tuesday, November 14, Home Minister G Parameshwar personally spoke with Noor Mohammad, the head of the affected family, assuring him of a speedy arrest.
According to police sources, the suspect has been apprehended, and investigations are set to continue.
Meanwhile, addressing media persons, SP Arun Kumar said, "We are verifying multiple suspects. We are likely to get a clear picture tomorrow."
