Mangaluru: Catholic Sports Association to hold ‘CPL 2023 Season-1’ on Nov 11-12

Mangaluru, Nov 10: The Catholic Sports Association, Mangauru, Dakshina Kannada will hold the maiden Catholic Premier League (CPL) – 2023, Season-1 on November 11 and 12 at Urwa grounds of the city.

The inauguration ceremony will be held on Saturday November 11 at 11.30 am with blessings by Fr Benjamin Pinto, parish priest, Our Lady of Immaculate Conception church, Urwa. Rohan Monteiro, managing director, Rohan Corporation, will preside over the stage programme. U T Khader, speaker Karnataka legislative assembly, Umanatha A Kotian, MLA, Mulki-Moodbidri constituency, Mithun Rai, general secretary KPCC, Sampath Shetty, MD, Lotus Properties and Francis D’Souza, MD, F4 Industrial Services will be the chief guests.

Valedictory ceremony of the league will be held on Sunday, November 12 at 5 pm with blessings by Fr Robert D’Souza, principal, Lourdes Central School, Bejai. Joylus D’Souza, former chairman, Christian Development Board Karnataka will preside over the stage programme. Vedavyasa Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru South and Rajesh Mendes, Ashly Hardware & Steels Moodbidri will be the chief guests.

Ten teams will be vying for the coveted trophy.
