Kolar, Nov 5: A 17-year-old boy was brutally hacked to death in Kolar on Friday, November 3 in the night.
It is said that at around 7.30 pm, the boy was killed in the premises of a government school in Pete Chamanahalli (PC) Layout on Friday.
The deceased is identified as Karthik, son of Arun Singh, a painter by profession in PC Layout. Kartik was pursuing his first PUC at S D C College in Kolar.

It is said that Karthik was at home and he did not attend college as he was suffering from a stomach ache. In the evening, some of his friends had called him over the phone and so Karthik had left home at around 5.30 pm. At around 7 pm his mobile phone got switched off.
But, at around 9 pm, someone informed his parents that their son was killed after being attacked brutally.
When the parents visited the spot they were shocked to see their son dead. The Kolar city police have registered a case.
The Central Range inspector general of police, B R Ravikanthe Gowda visited the spot. He said the boy may have been murdered due to old enmity.
Police have formed teams to trace the accused and Kartik’s friends. It is believed that the accused are in hiding in Tamil Nadu. Superintendent of Police Narayan said teams have been formed and sent to Tamil Nadu.
A few months before the murder, the accused had harassed Karthik Singh and other students of the college and reportedly a case has been registered in the police station in this regard.
