The family members escaped unscathed in the tragedy, as they were still preparing to go to sleep when the incident happened.
As soon as they heard the sound of a part of the house crumbling, the house inmates ran outside. Within minutes, the walls and roof crashed to the ground, creating a huge mound of debris. Two sewing machines, television set, utensils, clothes etc, totally valued at around three lac rupees were lost by the family in this incident.
The locals feel that the house crashed due to incessant rain on Thursday night, because of the fact that small portion of the walls immediately after the foundation, were built of earthen bricks.
