Leeds (England), Aug 26 (IANS/CMC): Veteran West Indies left-hander Shivnarine Chanderpaul missed out on a double century as Warwickshire crushed Yorkshire by an innings and 58 runs inside three days in the Division One County Championship here Thursday.
Chanderpaul carried his overnight unbeaten 167 to 193 before finally perishing, as the visitors were dismissed for 482 in reply to Yorkshire's first innings of 297.
In their second turn at the crease, Yorkshire plummeted to 127 all out with seamer Chris Wright (5-31) and left-arm seamer Keith Barker (4-56) doing the damage.
Chanderpaul batted for four hours and 14 minutes, faced 306 balls and struck 26 fours.
He stretched his overnight 76-run seventh wicket stand with Barker (85) to 119 before he nicked one behind off seamer Steven Patterson.
At the Rose Bowl, Windies speedster Kemar Roach claimed two for 13 in a fine eight-over spell to put Worcestershire in control against Hampshire on the second day of their contest.
Trailing on first innings by 25 runs, Hampshire were reduced to 84 for six after Roach prised out opener Liam Dawson for 11 and then sent back South African Neil McKenzie for four.
Earlier, Worcestershire lost their last nine wickets for 92 runs after resuming the day on 112 for one in their first innings.
At Chelmford, Leeward Islands left-hander Chesney Hughes was dismissed without scoring as Derbyshire finished the third day against Essex on 187 for four in their second innings, a lead of 112 runs.
Essex were bowled out for 207 after resuming the day on 173 for seven, a lead of 75 after Derbyshire fell for a paltry 132 in their first innings.
