Kuwait(Kuwait Times): The entire country enters into holiday mood during Eid festivities. This is a great opportunity for people to travel or invest their time performing useful activities. Many have charted out different plans to spend the upcoming Eid holidays.

Manal, a 45 year-old mother plans to travel to Bahrain by car with her family for a week, "We plan to shop, go to the cinemas, and avail of other recreational facilities. This year is different because we usually don't travel during Eid. We spend it by visiting relatives. Most people I know are travelling. This year, my children insisted that I travel, now that there are two weeks for school re-opening. It's a new adventure for us, and I feel it's the best Eid," she said.

Those who traveled last year plan to stay back in Kuwait, "I will enjoy shopping at malls. Also, I need to relax so that I can stay at home, and talk to people over the phone and send messages. I will also go to my club, swim and get myself a tan. Last year, I traveled to my home country Lebanon and spent Eid with the rest of my family there," said a 27-year- old Hanan.

Others don't like traveling during this time of the year, "I will stay home to watch TV and observe the political situation in my homeland Syria. The situation is not suitable there, and the Eid holiday is not long enough for long distance travel. I don't like to travel during Eid, it's a short holiday for me. So I prefer to stay here," said a 38-year- old Ibtisam.

Many have prepared a schedule of programs for Eid, "Sometimes, I travel during Eid, depending on the budget and if I get vacation time. This year, I'm not travelling and I will visit the theatre to watch a comedy play. I will also have lunch with friends on the first day of Eid. I'm also planning to go on a trip to Failaka Island. I may go bowling or to the cinema in the evening. There is so much to do here," stressed a 29-year-old Soud.

For others, Eid does not bring in any variety to their lives, "For more than 15 years, I have spent Eid in the same way. In the morning, I visit my grandmother's place with the rest of my family and we stay back till lunch. I usually visit my uncle in the afternoon, and enjoy rest of the time in a Chalet. I will stay in the chalet with my friends for the other Eid days," highlighted a 27-year- old Salah.

Many citizens prefer spending time by the sea, "I will go to a Chalet for breakfast and get a tan. I will stay there for the rest of Eid holidays. I also plan to cook, clean, prepare barbeque, and ride the Jet Ski and boat. Last year, I travelled. I just returned from a holiday. So, I am not entitled to receive more days off from work and I don't feel like traveling. Also, the political situation in the region is not stable so I would rather stay here," stressed a 22-year-old Khalid. Also, many expats,
especially singles or bachelors, plan to travel to their home country to be with their families.
