Excitement Reigns Supreme at Mosaru Kudike on Janmashtami

Mangalore, Aug 22: Come Krishna Janmashtami, and it's time once again to witness the numerous human pyramids that rise up in various parts of the city, all in a bid to break the earthen pots filled with buttermilk.
It was on different on Monday August 22, with huge crowds gathering at places like Kadri and Attavar to perform the Mosaru Kudike, as it is popularly known. Rain failed to dampen the spirit of the 'Govindas' as they went about breaking pots across the city.
Zilla panchayat CEO Dr K N Vijayaprakash and Ivan D'Souza witnessed the celebrations at Attavar.
The Mosaru Kudike was organised at Kadri by Kadri Friends, and was a huge hit among the locals. The Govindas formed a high pyramids and made an attempt to break dozens of pots. What made the prize worth winning was that the pots were filled with other things like money and eatables too.
There was also a colourful tableau that added to the celebrations. Flanked by tiger dancers, the tableau depicted the legends and mythological stories associated with Krishna Janmashtami.
