Sullia, Oct 12: Subramanya police arrested accused who broke the window panes of a car that was parked near Kukke Subramanya temple and stole gold and documents.
The arrested accused is identified as Prabhakara Honnavalli.
A pilgrim of Kerala origin had come to Subramanya temple on October 9 and had parked his car in the parking area of the temple. When he returned after offering pooja, the back window of the car was broken, gold and documents were stolen from the car.
Subramany station SI Muralidhara Nayak, ASI Karunakara and staff tracked the thief with the help of CCTV footage and arrested the accused, who resides nearby area.
During interrogation, it has come to light that arrested Prabhakara is a habitual offender and has various cases of theft of similar nature on him in various police stations.
The accused had stolen goods in similar manner in Subramanya earlier also. Recently, he had stolen things from a vehicle at Dharmasthala also.
Prabhakara was produced in court and sent to judicial custody.
