Mumbai, Aug 22: The annual general body meeting of Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited, was held at Brijavasi Palace auditorium, Sanavane Road, Goregaon (East), on Saturday August 20.
Bank chairman V R Kotian, in his presidential address, said that despite global economic turndown and inflation, the Bank has maintained steady growth. “The Bank has been surging in progress, with a solid financial base, efficiency of staff, and modern technology. Amidst stiff competition in the banking sphere, the Bank has seen growth of 21.87 percent in deposits and 26.10 percent in loan advances. Under the financial year, the share capital amounts to over Rs 71.73 crore while fixed deposits exceed Rs 2,139.76 crore, Rs 602.24 crore in savings deposits, Rs 57.03 crore in recurring deposits, and ‘Bharat Dainik’ deposits of Rs 53.78 crore. It has earned a profit of Rs 3,196.14 crore and net profit of Rs 47.99 crore. The working capital amounts to Rs 3,755.45 crore. The Bank has the employee strength of 709. The Bank enjoys Audit Classification of A grade,” he added.
Director Jaya C Salian said that the Bank promoted by Billavar Association is engaged in empowering the Billava community by supporting the education of community students and other social welfare activities. “The Bank already has 39 branches and RBI approval has been granted to open 11 more branches,” he added.
Bank’s CEO Bhaskar K Amin emphasized the Bank’s growth over the years, to become one amongst the multi-state scheduled banks in the country.
