Mangaluru, Oct 2: Ronak D’Sa, a third year BBA student of St Aloysius College (SAC) in the city, has attracted the attention of the union railway ministry through exquisite photography of trains that he took in various picturesque places of the country.
Ronak was attracted towards trains right from his childhood days, when he used to travel along with his grandfather. After he got a still camera while studying in first PU, his interest turned into hobby. From that day onwards, he began clicking photos of trains passing through forests, waterfalls, clouds, mountains, tunnels and bridges.

Ronak has captured some thrilling rail photos in places like Western Ghats of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Jaisalmer on Indo-Pak border, Pokhran and Bikaner Thar desert. He posts his clicks on his Facebook account and Instagram account ‘railboyron’.
The officials of union railway ministry have approached Ronak as they saw the photographs of trains clicked by Ronak and wanted to know more details.
Ronak says, “The union railway ministry has shared 12-15 train photographs clicked by me on their social media account. Current and former railway ministers also shared my clicks on trains on their Twitter accounts. My photographs have appeared on railway periodicals and websites. In addition, education and tourism ministries have used my clicks.”
The railway department recognized Ronak’s service and invited him for the flagging off ceremony of Vande Bharat trains between Dharwad-Bengaluru and Kasargod-Thiruvananthapuram. Ronak thinks that style of Vande Bharat express is inspired by his designs.
Ronak said that he has sent 30 to 35 designs to railway department and feels that his thoughts are considered. He is also trying to contact railway officials to get recognition of the same.
