Mangaluru, Sep 30: Milagres Educational Institutions, degree section, pre-university, central school, and high school sections jointly organized an ‘Anti-Drug Awareness March’ on Saturday, September 30.
A C Vinayaraj, corporator of court ward, flagged-off the march. He said, “We have to create awareness among youth so that we can save the young generation from menace of drug.”
S Mahesh Kumar, assistant commissioner of police of Mangaluru, said, “Youth should be the ambassadors of anti-drug awareness programmes.”
Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent of the institutions, Fr Michael Santhumayor campus director and principal, Fr Robin Santhumayor, assistant parish priest of Milagres Church, Fr Udaya Fernandes, principal central school, Melwin Vas, principal PU college and Beulah Rego, in-charge vice-principal high school were present.
NCC coordinator Denzil Pinto led the march. The march started from Milagres grounds and lead through Mother Theresa Road, Avery Junction, Don Bosco Hall Road, Balmatta Road, Hampankatta circle and was back to Milagres Institution campus. Over 2500 students and staff members of the institution participated in the march.
