Mangaluru, Sep 28: The Coast Guard personnel administered first aid to a fisherman, who suffered a heart attack while fishing in deep sea and saved his life.
Vasanta, fisherman, who was fishing in waters 36 nautical miles away from Panambur coast developed sudden chest pain and breathing difficulty. Fishermen on another boat who noticed the condition of Vasanta, immediately relayed information to district centre of Coast Guard. The Coast Guard immediately sent SOS to all its vessels nearby the spot where the fisherman was in trouble.
Interceptor C 446 boat of the Coast Guard which was closest to the fisherman in trouble rushed to his aid gave him first aid and brought him for advanced treatment in the same boat to NMPA. Vasanta was provided emergency service at Bunder Jetty and taken to a private hospital for further medical treatment.
