Mangaluru, Sep 22: Head-HR Infosys Limited Sushanth Tharappan inaugurated the day-long ‘Aloysian Fest 2023-24’ here at St Aloysius College on Friday September 22.
Addressing the gathering, Sushanth Tharappan said, “I have spent 15 years of student life in St Aloysius Institutions which shaped my personality. I am always grateful to my alma mater. In order to achieve success, we have to face a number of challenges. We need to look at failures as stepping stones for success which will push us to greater heights. Go and embrace the challenges and do not be afraid of failures.”
Sushanth also urged the students to develop mind skills, learning skills, social skills and team skills. “Today you may not be successful, but as days go on, all your experience will add to your capacity make you successful,” he said.
Finance officer Fr Vincent Pinto said, “The Aloysian Fest is a like a celebration where you perform and grow as a leader. The fest will be a platform to showcase your talents, as talents are unique, beautiful and special.”
Principal of St Aloysius College, Dr Praveen Martis also addressed the gathering.
Meanwhile, the trophies of Art Beat (BA & BSW fest), Composite (BCA fest), Imprints (BSc fest), Acme (BCom fest), Spinout (BBA fest), Initia (B Voc fest), Asthitva (Cultural fest) and Aloysiad (Sports fest) were unveiled by the dignitaries which were presented by the student coordinators of the respective departments.
The dignitaries felicitated NCC air wing cadet Aashna Rai and Konkani film ‘Osmitay’ lead actress Wencita Dias.
The dignitaries also inaugurated a science exhibition.
Chief coordinator Dr Mahalinga Bhat welcomed the gathering, president student council Christon Joshua Menezes proposed vote of thanks, and Vinay Mayekar and Syrima compered the event.
Registrar Dr Allwyn D’Sa, dean student welfare Dr Ishwar Bhat S, director students’ council Dr Anup Denzil Veigas, assistant coordinator Reji John, cultural secretary Divya Padav, directors of various blocks and staff coordinators were present.
