Mumbai: Preliminary meeting held to form Tulu Kannadigara Sangha at Sion

Mumbai, Sep 9: “I have been in Sion for the last four decades and serving in various sanghas. I had the desire to do social work in Sion. It appears that it is being realized,” said Ajanta Caterers promoter Inna Kurkilbettu Balike Jayarama B Shetty. He was speaking after presiding over the preliminary meeting at Nithyananda auditorium Sion on Sep 3 for the formation of local Tulu Kannadigara sangha. “Let us unite and take up pro people's work,” he said.

Prabhadevi Siddhivinayak temple trustee Bhasker Shetty Inna said that all should work for the growth of the sangha. “Women should work in the activities of the sangha in large numbers,” he said.

Sathish Shetty, proprietor of Lakshmi Caterers said that starting a sangha is easy but taking it forward is difficult. “It will be better for all if we take it forward well,” he said.

P Dhananjay Shetty, proprietor of Girnar Tea expressed his opinion. Chandrahasa Shimanthoor, proprietor of Ganga Vihar Sion said that a sangha is necessary here. “All the office bearers should work with a clean mind for its growth and strength,” he said.

Entrepreneur Shanker Shetty, Sadashiva Shetty Prathiksha Nagar, Prasanna Shetty, Ravindra Shetty, Mohan Kotian, Babanna Shetty Koliwada, Sadananda Shetty Kaman, Prabha N Suvarna, Chandra Shetty, Sanjiva Bangera, Dayananda Moolya, Tulu Kannadigas, entrepreneurs and social workers from Koliwada, Kurla, Chunabhatti, Prathiksha Nagar, Sion, Dharavi, Dadar and Mahim spoke in support.

Organizer Harry R Sequeira, Dayananda Moolya, Umesh Shetty Kukkundoor and Jayasheela Moolya cooperated. Dignitaries inaugurated the programme. Dr G P Kusuma welcomed, gave an introduction and compered the programme. Harry Sequeira proposed vote of thanks.
