Bantwal, Aug 30: Tragedy struck a family as a 23-year-old woman, who had retired for the night after dinner, was found deceased in her sleep. The departed was identified as Mitra Shetty (23), the daughter of Raja and a resident of Kavalamooduru grama, Pulimajalu. The discovery of her lifeless body was made in the morning, leaving the community in shock. The precise cause of her passing remains undisclosed.
Due to her father and elder brother's employment commitments in Bengaluru, Mitra Shetty resided with her mother at her aunt’s residence in Kavalapadoor grama, Madwa Kambaladda. Following dinner, both mother and daughter went to sleep. However, when Mitra failed to awaken or respond, she was promptly taken to the hospital, where medical professionals confirmed her unfortunate demise.
Her remains were subsequently transported to Deralakatte K S Hegde Hospital for post-mortem examination. Although an initial assumption indicated the possibility of a heart attack, there are suspicions that her passing may have been due to a brain hemorrhage. An accurate determination of the cause of death can only be made once the post-mortem report is obtained.
Bantwal rural police station has recorded the incident as a case of natural death. Mitra Shetty was an active member of Omkar Friends in Madwa and was employed at a legal practitioner's office in B C Road. Noted for her creativity and presence in social circles, her untimely demise has left her community deeply saddened.
