Panaji, Aug 9: Three minor girls were reportedly molested in a government school premises at Nagoa in Bardez taluka recently.

The incident occured at 7.45 am. The girls aged between eight and ten were waiting outside the school on August 5 morning as classes were to start at 8 am.

Police sources said that as classrooms were yet to be opened, the girls decided to wait outside.

According to the girls, a young man approached them complaining that the school toilets were not cleaned properly. When the girls objected, he asked them to accompany him to the toilets behind the school. Once they entered the toilet, he tried to take advantage of a 10-year-old girl.

Sensing the situation, the other two girls raised alarm. The young man got upset with the uproar created and slapped the girls. But the girls continued to scream. Their voices were heard by a sweeper who rushed to the spot. The accused immediately toom off.

Based on the description given by the girls, police suspect that the accused could be a college student.

A case has been registered at the Anjuna police station.
