Kasargod, Jul 29: A skeleton of a whale that died one-and-a-half decade ago was found in the shed of a house near Manjeshwar.
The skeleton was confiscated by the forest officers of Kasargod from the shed on a 15-acre land in Manjeshwar Kanvatheertha owned by a man of Karnataka origin.
When the owner of the land was contacted by forest officials, he said that he had got the skeleton in 2007 and had made a shed to keep the same at a cost of Rs 27000.
The skeleton will be sent to DNA test according to information given by Solomon K George, zonal forest officer.
Police said that further action will be taken after the DNA test results arrive.
