Mangaluru, Jul 28: In a significant operation, the CCB police apprehended a drug peddler involved in selling MDMA from a car in the vicinity of Mudipu, Kambala, Padav, and KIDB road. The suspect, identified as Mohammed Arif alias Arif (28), a resident of Nalikeda Gudde, Boliar, Ullal taluk, was arrested, and 25 grams of MDMA worth Rs 1,25,000 were confiscated from him.
During the arrest, the police also seized a Maruti Alto 800 car with registration number KA-19-MH-3023, a mobile phone, and a digital weighing scale, bringing the total value of the seized items to approximately Rs 6,35,500. The authorities have registered a case in connection with this incident at the Konaje police station, and investigations suggest that there might be more individuals involved in the drug peddling network. The police are actively searching for them.
Notably, the accused, Mohammed Arif, had a previous record of being involved in a cattle trafficking case, which was registered at the Konaje police station.
The successful operation was conducted by the dedicated team of the CCB unit, led by Police Inspector Sham Sunder H M, with the assistance of PSI Rajendra B, Sudeep M V, Sharanappa Bhandary, Narendra, and other CCB staff.
