Mangaluru, Jul 28: A case is filed in cyber police station accusing of obscenely editing the photo of a person who took a loan on a loan app, even after repaying the due amount.
The complainant had applied for Rs 3500 loan through a loan app and Rs 2800 got credited to his account. As the loan was to be repaid before July 26, the complainant paid Rs 1400 on July 19. The remaining amount was paid in phases to the UPI ID provided by the app owners with interest. In total, the complainant paid Rs 4200.
Later, a stranger sent an obscene photo of the complainant to the WhatsApp numbers of his parents, relatives and college lecturers of the victim saying that the person has not repaid the loan.
In the complaint, the victim alleged that the loan company has stolen personal data from his mobile phone without his consent and edited his photo in an obscene manner.
