Udupi, Jul 26: “A team from the National Commission for Women (NCW) will visit Udupi to review the incident of video recording by students in girls’ washroom. Member of the NCW Khushbu Sundar will be visiting the district,” said Shyamala Sunder, former member of the NCW.
Speaking at a press meet on Wednesday July 26, she said, "It is learnt that three Muslim girl students filmed a Hindu girl student in the washroom and sent the video to a Muslim boy. The video went viral on social media, it is said. The college administration confiscated the mobile phones.
“Rashmi Samant raised voice against this on Twitter. Police visited her house. According to the police personnel, they had visited her house to inspect the authenticity of the tweet. If a fake tweet was made from her account, she herself would file a complaint. This is a very sensitive issue. Khushbu and the inquiry team will be visiting the district and will look into the issue. The statement which stated the video was made for fun is not acceptable. Police should inquire the three girl students," she said.
