Mangaluru: Bike hits divider killing 21-yr-old engineering student on spot

Mangaluru, Jul 19: In a heart-wrenching accident, a 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed after his vehicle collided with a divider Wednesday, July 19

The deceased is identified as Mohammed Nashath.

Nashath was killed on the spot after his bike rammed into the divider opposite Sahyadri College in Adyar.

The young resident of Uppala was an engineering college student and was on his way to college when the mishap occurred.

    From my riding experience two wheelers are always safe on left side of road. Avoid potholes by riding on mud that way you wont be hit from behind. Secondly buy bikes only with dual channel ABS and not single channel.

    It is heartrending to hear of these accidents. Parents sacrifice so much to give their children everything, then this. So many such accidents are happening with the horrible condition of city and highway roads. Where are all the fancy politicians and political parties on this ?

    We cant lose our young gen like this, there should be a counseling or similar things need to be done in a collage level I believe... its heart-wrenching to see such young kids die in a tragic way like this,,,,

    Tragic and sad.Our roads are not meant for a racing with highend bikes in mangalore.Second its monsoon.Roads are slippery .Please ride carefully..Most probably he was too fast and bike was new ?And not experienced?However parents should also take care not to give bikes so fast to go school.May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to his family.

    It's not a high end bike a jawa cruiser. cctv video footages in social media shown bike was at high rate of speed. it was a target fixation that's why he couldn't control and in end crashed to electric pole.

    Whichever bike; high end means you might have thought Buccati, BMW etc. Even on our third-grade national highways you cannot ride at speeds more than 80kmph! As per recent news report in DH we have one of the worst roadways in the world!! Riding two wheelers in and around Mangalore is a very high risk activity!!

    Many youngsters on bikes overspeed in that stretch.with such high power vehicles one has to wear complete protective gear and drive carefully and responsibly .... other wise everyone's in danger

    Its the parents fault of buying such high powered bikes to their children. No student should be allowed to ride bikes above 100cc.

    In fact till Rajiv was the PM only vehicles upto 1000cc were allowed!! It's high time that these high torque vehicles are banned in the larger interest of the general public; this can be achieved, indirectly, by prohibitively high taxation for vehicles beyond a certain range!!

    Just seen the video circulated in the social media ,what a horrific and tragic accident. Bike skidded and hit the divider in extreme speed and body thrown in air. Speed is the killer. Please control the speed. I pray god his soul rest in peace. Om Shanti.
