Kundapur, Jul 16: Thieves broke into the office of Sri Ganesh Fuel Service located at Tarikatte Cross in the village of Belve on Friday night and decamped with valuables.
The petrol pump's night shift staff closed the pump at 10 pm and went home. The thieves deliberately redirected the two CCTV cameras installed in front of the office and covered them with paper. They used old boards as a disguise while breaking the lock of the office.
Once inside, the thieves searched for cash but found none. Instead, they made off with a new network modem, a hard disk, and the CCTV's DVR (Digital Video Recorder).
It is worth noting that in June 2022, the same petrol pump was targeted by thieves who stole Rs 1.89 lacs. Following that incident, the pump's owner stopped keeping cash on-site and instead took it home. This time, the thieves failed to find any cash but took other valuable items.
The Shankaranayana police, accompanied by a canine squad and fingerprint experts, visited the scene to investigate the matter.
