Flower Bans Panesar from Bowling to Tendulkar at Nets

London, Jul 27 (IANS): England coach Andy Flower has banned Monty Panesar from bowling to Sachin Tendulkar in the nets, after confirming that the England spinner helped the Indian maestro practice before the Lord's Test.

"He did bowl to him in the nets before Lord's and I think that it is quite a naïve thing to do," Flower was quoted as saying in The Telegraph, following his team's 196-run victory over India Monday.

"I haven't spoken to him yet but one would hope he understands that it won't happen again."

Panesar was in the Ashes squad last winter and played 39 Tests for England. He, however, has been on the fringes since the emergence of Graeme Swann.

Panesar defended himself by saying that he had some spare time during Sussex's T20 campaign and that a youngster like him might pick up some tips by bowling to Tendulkar.

Panesar's help didn't assist Tendulkar, who made 34 and 12 in the Test.

How petty can these so called coaches get. BCCI please apply for n send out practice bowlers to England from among our potential spinners and warn the English that when they come to India on tour they will not get any help from Indian bowlers for practise.
