Mangaluru: Investiture ceremony 2023-24 held at Presidency School

Mangaluru, Jul 4: July 1 marked the beginning of the journey to leadership at Presidency School, Mangaluru with the induction of its newly-elected cabinet members for the academic session- 2023-24. Investiture ceremony for this new session was orchestrated with great solemnity and dignity. The ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested office bearers.

The stately event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest for the day, prof Ifitikar Ali, chairman of UT Fareed Foundation and dean of Dr M V Shetty group of colleges. The chief guest was then escorted to the dais by the school principal, Shaila Saldanha, asst director Arun Devaraj, management representative Javed Lathif and the CODs. of school and PUC.

The school choir added vibrancy to the solemn occasion with their splendid song on the theme for the day, 'Pinnacle'. The designate school captain, Criss Rebello welcomed the gathering.

The proceedings were presided over by the principal Shaila Saldanha, who administered the oath to the office bearers and other student council members. The council was then formally vested with their powers and conferred with badges and sashes. The newly-elected members of the school cabinet swore allegiance to the school and its values. The principal addressed the students on the intrinsic qualities of a leader and emphasized on 'an exemplary leadership'.

The board toppers and subject toppers of grade 10 and 12 AY 2022-23 along with their parents were felicitated for their outstanding performances. The teachers were also felicitated for their stupendous performance.

The chief guest, prof Ifitikar Ali, chairman of UT Fareed Foundation and dean of Dr M V Shetty group of Colleges then orated on effective leadership.

The president of PUC, Abdul Sayim concluded the event with his vote of thanks followed by the national anthem.

The occasion was graced by the proud parents of the elected student council members and the board toppers. With the flags held high and heads standing tall, the ceremony concluded with the national anthem.
