Udupi, Jul 3: To create awareness about preserving the trees and nature ‘Vanamahotsava Day’ was celebrated at Trinity Central School. The tree planting festival is observed annually, over a period of week starting from July 1 to 7.
The programme began with the school choir leading the prayer.
Fr Sunil Dominic Lobo in his address interacted with the students about the importance of saving and preserving our environment. His message stressed upon Nature and biodiversity which makes life possible, provides health and social benefits and drives our economy. His message conveyed that Nature is also our best ally in tackling the climate crisis. The programme was inaugurated by planting a sapling by all the dignitaries.
The students of grade 7 emphasized the importance of saving ‘Mother Nature’. Through their street play they encouraged to keep the surroundings green and clean and to raise voice against every act of harming the Earth.
Vishisht presented some facts and figures concerning the nature. The students also expressed their love towards the environment through a song. Vihaan welcomed the gathering. Manvi requested the gathering to take small initiative in making the planet greener, cleaner and healthier by taking an oath. Rashel Mascarenhas proposed the vote of thanks.
The entire programme was hosted by Pranvi and was concluded with the school anthem.
Fr Sunil Dominic Lobo principal presided over the programmr. The PTA president Krishna Shridharan the chief guest of the programme, Fr Ravi Rajesh Serrao, vice principal and Magalina Lewis, the academic coordinator and others were present.
