Mangaluru: 'Tech Yuva 23” held at Srinivas University Institute of Engineering & Technology, Mukka

Mangaluru, Jun 30: A two-day national level techno cultural and sports fiesta 'Tech Yuva - 23; was organised at Srinivas University Institute of Engineering & Technology (SUIET), Mukka. Around 2,500 engineering students took part in this mega event. Chief guest of the programme Er Rathnakar S Bhat (ceo & director of Karnataka Microelectronic Design Pvt Ltd, and Member of Technical Group, Texas Instruments Team and Kilby Labs, Dallas) inaugurated Tech Yuva – 23 by lighting the lamp.

Dr CA A. Raghavendra Rao (hon’ble chancellor, Srinivas University) presided over the programme. Dr A Srinivas Rao (pro chancellor, Srinivas University) was the guest of honour.

Dr Anil Kumar (registrar, Srinivas University), Dr Ajay K G (registrar - Development, Srinivas University), Dr Sushma Kesari (head of Digitalization Dept, Srinivas University), Dr Thomas Pinto (dean, SUIET Mukka), Dr Netravati P S (associate dean, SUIET), Prof Shrinath Rao K (convener, Tech Yuva-23), Roshaun Rakesh Nair (student coordinator) and Vaishnavi Shenoy (student coordinator) were present on the dais.

Dean of the College, Dr Thomas Pinto delivered welcome address. Dr Netravati P S presented an overview of 'Tech Yuva' since its inception in the year 2013. Convener of Tech Yuva-23, Prof K Shrinath Rao introduced the chief guest and dignitaries on the dais.

In his inaugural address, Rathnakar S Bhat congratulated the college management, faculty, staff and students for organising National Level Technical Cultural & Sports Fest 'Tech Yuva – 23'. Rathnakar Bhat said that by organizing such technical, cultural and sports fest, students will be further motivated to inculcate good leadership qualities in them. Hence, all students should take advantage of this technical, cultural and sports festival. Rathnakar Bhat said patience, perseverance and process, these three things are very important to achieve success in life. He wished good luck to all the participants and said that students should upgrade their knowledge, skills and wisdom through dedicated hard work, concentration and by making more efforts till they reach the goal.

Guest of honour, Dr A Srinivas Rao addressed the students and said that participation in Tech Fests is very important. Everyone is a winner here. Participating in competitions will provide great opportunities for the students; thereby enhance their knowledge and skills. Dr Srinivas Rao said that today's generation is technology driven; hence change is the order of the day. Technology is changing very fast. Dr Srinivas Rao advised the students to learn more technology and apply the same in daily life to achieve success. Dr Srinivas Rao wished good luck to the students who came from different places including Bengaluru, Mandya, Mysuru, Bidar and other parts of India to participate in Tech Yuva-23.

In his presidential address, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao applauded the rich global experience and achievements of chief guest Rathnakar S. Bhat in the field of Integrated Circuits Design, Semiconductor Devices and Automation Tools. Dr Raghavendra Rao Ji told the students that four years of dedicated engineering study will transform students into successful engineering professionals; hence through constant hard work, students should innovate in different dimensions and unleash their talents. Dr Raghavendra Rao said that the aim of Srinivas University is to make the students industry ready; hence more focus is given for the skills development at Srinivas University. Dr Raghavendra Rao congratulated the students for organizing 2 days Techno Cultural and Sports Fest and said that students of Srinivas University should make good contribution for building a strong nation.

On this occasion, the new website of the college designed by the students was launched.

Prof Shwetha Pai (Training & Placement Officer) delivered vote of thanks. Students Shreeja Shetty and Sam Avin Bangera compered the programme. Vaidehi performed the invocation. Heads of various departments, faculty members, staff, students and participants from other engineering colleges were present during the inaugural ceremony.

A wide range of Technical competitions namely Paper Presentation, Model Making, Collage, Robo Wars, 3D CAD Modeling, Code Hunt, Design & Build Challenge, Robo Soccer, Line Follower, RC Racing, Technical Quiz, Paper Airplane, Takshak, Just A Minute, Markovista were conducted on the first day. Cultural & Sports events namely Singing, Solo and Group Dance, Tug of War, Basket Ball Shootout, Badminton, Volleyball, Face Painting, Mock Press, Treasure Hunt, Stand-Up Comedy, BGMI, Cricket, Kabaddi, Table Tennis, Chess, Carom, and other events were conducted on the second day for Mechanical, Civil, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Cyber Security & Cyber Forensics, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and Commerce & Management students of other colleges. More than 50 different varieties of competitions in Technical, Cultural, Literary and Sports category were organized for the Students on both days. A special DJ event by DJ Jathin was organized on the second day for the participants.
