Mangaluru: St Aloysius College Higher Primary School bids farewell to Philomena Lewis

Mangaluru, Jun 30: A farewell function for Philomena Lewis was held at St Aloysius College Higher Primary School on June 24. It was an event filled with heartfelt moments and expression of gratitude.

The school band played a cheerful melody as she was welcomed to the auditorium along with the correspondent John D’souza S J, headmistress Jositta Noronha, asst headmaster Liya Dsouza .

The gathering began with a prayer song invoking blessings and offering gratitude for the years of dedicated service put in by Philomena Lewis.

Words of appreciation flowed freely as Prinston took turn to speak, expressing his admiration and gratitude. Having worked for 37 years, She had created history of being headmistress for 16 years. She made the students realize the importance of life and had helped in defining What success really meant. She worked tirelessly in shaping young minds and led them to good path. She was a role model who inspired the students with her kindness. Everyday she planted a seed of curiosity and motivation to grow and succeed. He wished her well for the next chapter of her life.

A farewell song by the students was a testament to the positive impact she had on her students .

This was followed by honouring of the retiring teacher on stage. A citation summarizing her illustrious career was read by Irene Pais acknowledging her accomplishments and the indelible mark she had left on the students and institution.

In a symbolic gesture, a shawl of honour was presented by the correspondent, Garland by the headmistress and a basket of fresh fruits was presented by asst headmaster. Students greeted the teacher with flowers to show their gratitude for the positive impact she had on the students.

Philomena Lewis, the retiring teacher spoke on the occasion. She called upon the students to bring name and fame to their Institution.

The correspondent of the school then spoke, acknowledging her 37 years of dedicated service. To add a touch of liveliness to the event, a vibrant dance performance was presented, showcasing the joy and energy that Philomena Lewis had brought to the school community.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Nuraz Khan. The programme concluded with the School Anthem.
