Mumbai, July 24 (IANS) Maharashtra's law and order situation and security scenario post the July 13 blasts will be discussed during the monsoon session of the assembly beginning Monday, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan said here.

"Not only the security concerns regarding the July 13 serial blasts, but the overall law and order situation in the state should also be discussed," Chavan told reporters Sunday.

Chavan, however, refused to reveal details regarding the probe in the serial blasts.

"Further details would be given by Anti-Terrorist Squad chief Rakesh Maria," he said.

Chavan also said that the bill on preventing attacks on journalists will be tabled in the session and that a sub-committee was looking into it.

The opposition Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had earlier boycotted the customary tea party hosted by the chief minister.

Opposition leader Eknath Khadse had said that they were concerned about the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

"The opposition will put forth issues like the recent serial blasts, atrocities against women and the deteriorating law and order situation," Khadse said.

He added that atrocities like rapes, dacoities and female foeticide were on the rise in Maharashtra.
