M’lore: Beary’s Cultural Forum Presents Scholarship to 220 Students

Mangalore, Jul 24: Beary’s Cultural Forum, under the aegis of Dubai Indian Islamic Centre, UAE organized ‘BCF Educational Scholarship Meet- 2011’ at Loyola Hall, St Aloysius PU College Campus, Kodialbail here on Sunday July 24.
Shaikuna Al Haj P M Ibrahim Musliyar, qazi of Udupi led the dua ritual. Speaking on the occasion, he said that prayer is the intercourse of soul with the God and that should be done from the heart with pure involvement.
Krishna J Palemar, district in-charge minister, the chief guest of the programme said that through distributing the scholarship to students, Beary’s Cultural Forum is doing a noble work. “Earlier girls in Beary community were not getting good support for their education, but now girls in beary community are seen becoming advocates, doctors, engineers among other professions” he noted.
He called upon the leaders in the community to make sure that 100% literacy is achieved. Taking note of event organized in Dubai, Palemar said Dubai is ideal to the whole world as people there organize any event irrespective of caste, creed and religion. He also lauded the effort of Beary’s Cultural Forum which gave away the scholarship to 220 students in city.
Dr B K Yousuf, president, BCF welcomed the gathering and presided over the programme. M E Moolur, chairman, BCF Scholarship committee gave brief introduction to BCF. U T Khader, MLA, B M Farookh, president beary’s welfare association Bangalore, B m Mumtaz Ali, gen secretary, Islamic cultural centre, Mangalore, M K Beary, president, DKSC, UAE, were the guests of honor.
B Ahmed Haji Mohiyuddeen, chairman Thumbay Education trust, B A Moidin Bawa, chairman, DCC Minority Cell, Mangalore, Mohammed Beary, president, Muslim education institutes federation, B A Nazeer, president, Kanara Small, industries association, M B Noor Mohammed Mulky, Abdul Majeed Suralpady, president, Akhila Bharatha Beary Parishat were present.
The total scholarships amounting to Rs 12 lac were distributed to 220 students. Saleem Althaf, vice president, BCF delivered the vote of thanks.
