Mangaluru, Jun 25: Scouts and Guides of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru held a virtual programme on “Our Earth” on June 24 at 5 pm on the occasion of World Environment Day, as per the guidance given by Bharath Scouts and Guides organization. School guide captain, Aparna Phadte welcomed the participants for the virtual programme. She extended a special welcome to P G R Sindhia, state commissioner of Scouts & Guides, Prabhakar Bhat, state organising commissioner of Scouts & Guides, Bharath Raj, ASOC, Bharath Scouts & Guides Dakshina Kannada district, Jayavanthi Soans, district joint secretary and district commissioner of Guides and Scouts Master Kini, president of Mangaluru City North.

The programme began with lighting the lamp followed by a short prayer service. Scouts and Guides then performed a dance giving awareness about “Go green, Save Water”. They also gave the significance of the day followed by a song depicting importance of saving nature. Then the officials of Scouts and Guides interacted with the members, appreciated their performance and enlightened them about the need to save nature and conserve natural resources.

Guide Adithi Kottari proposed a vote of thanks and Scout Kevin Kushalappa compered the programme.
