Mangaluru: International Yoga Day celebrated at Govt First Grade College, Kavoor

Mangaluru, Jun 22: On the occasion of International Yoga Day on June 21, Youth Red Cross, NSS, Student Paishad, Ranzers & IQAC of Government First Grade College, Kavoor has organised yoga awareness programme.

The resource person Raghunath, the yoga instructor, Pathanjali Yoga Trust addressing the students said, "Yoga is the mind-body fitness that involves a combination of muscular activity and an internally directed mindful focus on awareness of the self, the breath, and energy." He spoke on the significance of the theme for International Yoga Day 2023 is 'Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam', which means 'One Earth, One Family, and One Future. He told students to be proud of India for being the mother of origin of yoga. Continuing he said, "Life without yoga is meaningless, unorganized and totally a mess."

Yoga should become a part of our routine, not a day's celebration was the presidential remarks of the college principal Dr Shivarama P A. A warm welcome speech was delivered by Deepthil, I Bcom, a wholehearted gratitude was proposed by Manjula, II BA and Priya was the emcee of the celebration.

Geetha M L HOD of commerce and management, Rekha S N, coordinator of Youth Red Cross, Mohini, NSS coordinator, Santhosh Pinto, coordinator of student council, Prameela Rao, Razors coordinator and Jyothi Shetty IQAC coordinator successfully organised the programme.
