Mangaluru, Jun 21: The investiture ceremony is a platform to showcase the leadership skills and abilities of the students and is the most prestigious ceremony in the schedule of school events. The investiture ceremony marks a significant beginning of the new academic session.
Ryan International School Kulai celebrated the fifth investiture ceremony on June 17. This is a milestone in a student's life where in they get a chance to recognise, accept and strengthen their own talents of leadership and problem-solving.
Critical thinking and decision making. This ceremony is not only about placing a scarf around a student’s shoulder rather it is about teaching them about shouldering responsibilities.
The chief guest of the day was assistant commissioner of police-traffic, Mangaluru, Geeta Kulkarni. The guest was welcomed by the school band with a guard of honour. The school principal Vaijayanthi Hegde escorted the guest to the indoor sports stadium.
The programme started with the lord’s prayer, special prayer and worship song. The gathering was welcomed by the students in three languages. English, Hindi, Kannada.
The chief guest was welcomed and felicitated by the Principal with a welcome card and a potted plant. The chief guest did the honour of initiating the students into the council by tying the scarf and pinning the badge.
In her address to the students the chief guest stressed on the importance of starting the day with Prayers. To succeed in life she gave the students two formulas - 3 D’s Determination, Discipline and Dedication and 3G’s Go, Grow, Globally. She concluded her speech by reminding the parents to abide by the Traffic regulations.
As she was called on duty she had to be excused. Tree plantation was done by the honorable assistant commissioner to commemorate the event.
The deputy leaders and the other members of the council were initiated into the council by parents present there.
The principal administered the oath to the council.
The school president gave his presidential speech, where he thanked the school management for allowing such a wonderful platform to exhibit and develop their skills. Students of class VI added colour to the event with their joyous dance.
The event was concluded with the country pledge, Ryan pledge, Ryan anthem followed by the prayer of thanks, ending with the national anthem.
