Mumbai, Jul 18: “Regionalism and nationalism will not hinder harmony.  Hatred is created among people in the country because it is motivated by vested political interests.  It’s in this metro that brotherhood among communities and unity in diversity thrives,” said Karnataka MLA M Srinivas from Mandya.

He was speaking at a programme held to distribute notebooks to students at Kamgar Kalyan Bhavan, Gondavali Goutan, Andheri (East), on Sunday July 17.  It was organized by the metro-based Okkaliga Sangh Maharashtra.

Sangh president Narayan R Gowda distributed notebooks to the toppers of SSC, HSC, and degree examinations on the occasion.

Srinivas added that the Okkaliga community is the second largest population in Karnataka.  “The metro-based Okkaliga Sangh gets aligned with Karnataka state Okkaliga Sangh to make their impact in every sphere,” he added.

Veteran hotelier Subash Agarwal, Congress leader Chandra Shetty, A Kempe Gowda, Chandan C Chari, Nagesh N Patel, Gangadar Gowda, Laxminarayan Gowda, Dharmanna Gowda, Mutte S Gowda, Dharmesh Gowda, B A Dodde Gowda, Anand Gowda, and Nerul Nagaraj Gowda were present on the dais.

Sangh vice-president Rangappa C Gowda welcomed the gathering.  Vice-president Manjunat B Gowda proposed the vote of thanks.  Shivaram Gowda compered the programme.
